Fabio
Villani – Home page
Fabio moved to Scotland in 1982 and set up
a cabinet making and restoration business here in
1983. In the 90s, he became involved in the promotion of
native timber, which led him to spearhead the establishment of a community woodland group in
Forres to regain
control of former common good land on the outskirts of the town.
Fabio became so interested in not-for-profit land management
and social enterprise that he changed
careers, working with the National Trust
for Scotland before setting up as a freelance community and project
development facilitator. This gave Fabio the opportunity to support groups such
as Forres Groups
Action and the Burn
O’ Fochabers Woodland Community Trust, facilitate community and stakeholder
involvement for the National Trust for Scotland, and contribute to a research
project in Community
Involvement in Private Forestry for the Forestry Commission.
In the last three years Fabio has worked
in the field of community and user involvement in the field of health and
community care, first with Highland Community
Care Forum and currently with the Scottish
Health Council.
