We have offered our cabinet-making and restoration services since we were
established in 1983. We enjoy and take pride in our work and it shows.
Cabinet-making has a vital role to play in today's world. The use
of traditional craftsmanship and solid wood can be combined with good woodland
management to improve the environment outside our homes as well as inside
them. For this reason we have stopped using tropical hardwoods for
cabinet-making since 1991.
Using native timber has many advantages:
for aesthetic reasons as native timbers have attractive grain and colour;
for social and economic reasons,as using Scottish wood stimulates the
local economy;
for conservation reasons, to encourage land-owners and foresters to
plant more native trees, providing habitats for wildlife and a more pleasing
landscape.
An increasing proportion of the timber we use is from local woodlands.
We have installed a drying kiln to process locally grown wood, providing
quality timber for ourselves and other local craftsmen.
